Projects

For an emerging country like india, Koshish-ADHF has adopted a life cycle approach – Beginning in with corridor of Education, Intensive Program focused on Health, Livelihood and Women Empowerment, and Environment  protection Initiatives, which address the need of children, their families and larger community.

Health

Since independence India has made rapid strides in the health sector, still access to healthcare still remains a challenge. While the health statics of rural india continue to be poor, the health status and access to health for poor in urban slum dwellers has to be equally deplorable. Despite accounting for 1/4th of the country’s poor population, urban areas have less than 4% of government primary health care facilities.Adverse health condition is owing to mainly two reasons- first the lack of education and thus lack of awareness; and second the unwilling to lose a day’s wage in order to reach the nearest medical facility. Health for unprivileged, which is a desperate need, thus remain unaddressed. As a result, cases of poor women health, malnourishment in children and death from preventable diseases from such areas are always high.To address this issue Koshish-ADHF has two pronged strategy –first to bring quality health care services to doorstep of the needy and second to promote healthcare awareness and contemprory health care seeking behaviour among the underprivileged.

Adopt cancer patient program : Cancer treatment can be a huge drain on family finances even for the relatively well off.Through whatever limited fund we have, we try to disburse on medical aid. We also find sponsors, raise fund help patients network with aid-giving organizations, guide them about circulating appeal in the proper channels, arrange medicines in wholesale rates. On the adoption Sponsor receives the case history, photograph, progress report  and can have a meeting if both desires so.

Environment

In last few hundred years the human development was rapid, we developed and adopted new ways of living, we built sky scrapers, we manufactured vehicles and electronics appliances and so on. All these ways of adaptations and changes contributed in making our life style better in many terms.
But when we were adopting and making changes in our life style we just ignored the price which we were paying. In this partial development we were unable to see that we were highly contributing towards destruction too, as we never thought of giving back responsibly what we have taken from our mother nature. This irresponsible attitude of just consuming the resources without ever trying to replenish them, contributed to destruction and this destruction has certainly surpassed all other benefits of our partial development. What we can see around us now is the after effect of all our irresponsible acts and attitude, whether it’s increased number of flood, drought or any other calamity happening around the world. All these are the results of our irresponsible contribution towards destruction. But now it’s too late to just regret over what we have done. It’s high time for us to take step to turn ourselves from irresponsible individuals to responsible human beings. Though certainly we can’t replenish all or can’t be a great producer of what we have consumed till now, but what we can surely do is, to conserve what we are still left with, and try to replenish whatever we can. All it need is strong persistence and just a little contribution by all.

Our programme:
1. Meeting with environmentally-minded community member, to share and encourage environment friendly ideas.
2. Tree plantation programme at various places.
3. Water conservation campaign.
4. Campaign to reduce air, water & noise pollution.

Girl Child & Women Empowerment

Koshish Foundation has given special attention on the development of women in its operational area to curb the dependency syndrome of women. Regular meetings & training programs are being organized to educate them about their health, education, rights, duties and legal matters concerning their problems. The Foundation is operating programs of education on development initiatives, social justice and civil defense, vocational education and entrepreneurship development, career counseling and other support services. The foundation is working to promote research, development and adoption of technology for improving the quality of life of women especially the economically weaker sections including SCs, STs, OBCs and PWDs in tribal/rural areas.
The crime rate against women has gone up at an alarming rate across the country today. The infringement of Women rights jolts us. Now is our chance to stand up for women empowerment and fight for their rights and ensure women protection and well being. You can make that difference, you can be the change.
